News : CBSE's new Grading system and also the new CCE

On 31st August, Mr. Kapil Sibal announced that CBSE X 
board will be made optional from 2010-11.

So how does it affect you?

1. If you're in Class X (Batch of 2009-10)
  • Regular Board Exams will be conducted. No change in examination pattern, practical etc.
  • Only change will be - instead of giving marks, the CBSE will give grades in results.
  • Grading system will be as follows:

2. If you're in Class IX (Batch of 2009-10)
  • CBSE will divide the year into two terms, with continuous and comprehensive evaluation (CCE) in each term on the basis of fixed guidelines.
  • The CCE - conducted by the school itself based on the CBSE guidelines - will start from October in the current Class IX.
  • CBSE has issued a circular regarding the CCE as on September 20th, Visit the CBSE official site for the circular.
3. If you're in other classes
  • There's no change for the current academic year 2009-10.
